Illinois Association of Aggregate Producers Public Information and Education committee

Steve McChesney, Senior Erosion and Sediment Control Specialist at Hey recently joined the Illinois Association of Aggregate Producers (IAAP) Public Information and Education (PIE) committee. PIE presented a 3-day teachers training about rock and mineral use and mining. Starting with the premise, “if it can’t be grown, It has to be mined,” PIE dazzled about 20 grade school to community college teachers with fossils, minerals, and an underground tour at the Fred Weber limestone mine in Alton.
